The SunCoast transmissions are engineered to deliver the utmost in durability and performance, which are needed to get the engine's power to the ground. All transmissions are rebuilt to the manufacturers' specifications with new seals, bushings, rings, steels, and frictions and then dyno-tested to insure flow and pressure calibrations. Starting with a sturdy chunk of steel, the cover of every converter is machined to exact specifications. Using the SunCoast’s unique trapezoidal teeth design, the lockup portion of the converter is smoothly integrated into the cover, overcoming a weak point and common source of chatter. Instead of the OEM-style plastic stator cap/thrust spacer, SunCoast uses a metal Torrington roller style bearing, which is more suitable to resist heat, as well as wear and tear. This significantly increases the lifespan of converters under harsh conditions, so they'll last for decades to come.
