Our dogs have become such an integral part of our lives that in most families it’s not uncommon for the dog to sleep on the bed, lounge on the couch, and go along with us in the car. But an unrestrained dog allowed to roam freely about a moving vehicle can become a dangerous distraction, possibly causing an accident. And while a minor collision may not be harmful to you, secured in your seat belt, it could be deadly for your untethered pet. Our dog boxes and car booster seats are the smart way to travel with your pet because they can help ensure everyone arrives safely.

It’s smart to tether your dog to the seat belt or use a pet barrier, but travel for some dogs is distressing, and that may not be enough. Hunting dogs usually spend most of their lives outside, and traveling in the cabin may not be best for them or your interior. With a pickup, you could just let the dog ride in the bed, but traveling untethered in the bed is illegal in many states, and the dog is exposed to the elements and could jump or fall out easily. There are tethers for securing a dog in the bed, but these still leave the animal exposed to wind, rain, and temperature extremes.

A dog box is the safe, secure way to transport a dog, especially if you carry them in your pickup bed. Inside a dog box, your pet is protected from the elements, and what’s more, shielded from stimulations that could make travel distressing. You will also benefit from a dog box, because you’ll be able to drive safely without distractions or worries about your pet. Our dog boxes are made from lightweight, but rugged aluminum so rust will never be a concern. They’re well ventilated, so your pet can breathe easy and the airflow will keep your dog from becoming overheated. We have single, double, and even triple compartment boxes to accommodate one, two, or three dogs. The partition can be removed on some double boxes to provide additional room. Many of our boxes also include storage space at the top or bottom of the box. Most top storage boxes have a single lid hinged at the rear of the box, but we also offer double compartment top storage boxes with lids that open to the sides. We also have cross bed double dog boxes that mount in the bed and have top compartments that open just like a cross bed tool box. Bottom storage dog boxes have a drawer that slides open to the front. With a storage dog box you can transport dogs and use the additional space for supplies or as a traditional tool box. Our storage dog boxes have features found on premium tool boxes, like gas struts that raise the top lid when unlatched, and segmented compartments for easy organizing. Our boxes are easy to use and many can be quickly disassembled when not needed for convenient storage.

While our aluminum dog boxes are ideal for pickup beds and SUV cargo areas, they’re impractical if you like your pet to ride up front in the cabin with you. The booster seat attaches to your vehicle’s seat with the seat belt, and one or more tethers are included to attach to your pet’s harness. Various sizes are available to accommodate different size dogs or more than one animal, including a model designed especially for bucket seats. Booster seats come in a range of interior complementing colors, and the removable cover is machine washable.
