A few years back a group of Central Floridian good-ol’ boys, “Bubbas” created the perfect off-road recovery rope. Their one-of-kind snatch rope is adapted from military specifications and has been tested commercially for years, pulling out work trucks and heavy equipment from muddy job sites. Recreational 4x4s, ATVs and other off road vehicles can benefit from this kinetic energy technology to get unstuck faster and safer. What makes Bubba Rope® so unique is the process of dipping a double braided nylon rope in a polymer base. This coating is what gives Bubba Rope® its water, abrasion and UV resistant properties and ultimately a longer life span. Bubba Ropes are now colored coded and Gator-ized™, making Bubba Rope® truly the best recovery rope ever!
“Bubba” is an endearing term used in the South representing a more "countrified" way of life. Bubbas and their fairer side, Bubbettes thoroughly enjoy their time outdoors. On weekends you can find them off-roading while they are fishing, hunting, and yes, playing in the mud. Almost all of Bubbas either own a 4x4 vehicle or know someone that does. And here’s the good news: just about anybody can be a All American Bubba or Bubbette! From a country good old boy or girl to a chic urban socialite. You just need to have a fun attitude and at least one piece of "camo" clothing in your wardrobe.
Jake is the special character that appears in the company's logo and website. Originally, created by Jake Vest, “That’s Jake” was a syndicated cartoon for over 20 years, appearing in a multitude of newspapers across the country. Jake is the perfect Bubba, straight forward and countrified without being a Hollywood stereotypical Southerner. Jake also appeared in the 1980s operating a crane, lifting a donkey in a sling in the now famous Certified Slings’ (Bubba Rope®’s parent company) slogan created by Ron Worswick a founder of Certified Slings; “If yours is in a sling…make sure it’s Certified.” Jake Vest is still a very funny fellow teaching grade school kids to read and write in Central Florida.
At Bubba Rope®, they take their products and their customers seriously while having fun in what they do. They created Bubba Rope® as a fun life-style array of high quality American made products. Bubba Rope® is wholly owned by Certified Slings, Inc., an award winning lifting, hoisting, rigging and wire rope company.
1. Make sure your vehicle is actually stuck in mud, sand, snow or some kind of other gooey stuff and not that you just forgot to take off the parking brake. Old Uncle Jake was always making that kind of Bubba operator error.
2. Once you have established that your vehicle is actually stuck, here’s your chance to gain some big Bubba points. After all, rescuing a fellow Bubba or Bubbette from the depth of a muddy mud hole is a true act of Bubba git-r-done kindness.
3. Pull your Bubba Rope® out of its bag and announce loudly, “No problem! I have a Bubba Rope® made in the good old USA!” No doubt this phrase will make you an instant expert and will impress everyone in ear shot.
4. Bubba Tip: Attach your Bubba Rope® to the stuck vehicle first. Note: If you attach your Bubba Rope® to the towing vehicle first then you will have to move the stuck vehicle in order to attach the other end of the Bubba Rope®!
5. Find a suitable place to attach your Bubba Rope®. It should be a strong part of the vehicle. To find the best place, take a look in your vehicle’s owner's manual. For example: In the front of the vehicle you may find pulling points which look like eye hooks. In the back of the vehicle look for the same thing or you can use an attached trailer hitch but only if you are using a Bubba Rope® shackle.
WARNING: DO NOT ATTACH YOUR BUBBA ROPE® TO YOUR BUMPER even if it seems like a really good idea because you are likely to rip your bumper right off your vehicle.
WARNING: DO NOT ATTACH YOUR BUBBA ROPE® TO A TRAILER HITCH BALL NEITHER unless you want to end up “sling-shotting” a miniature cannon ball through somebody’s back window.
6. Once you have your Bubba Rope® securely attached to your vehicles climb back in, start your engines and gun them loudly. This actually does nothing to pull out your stuck vehicle but it’ll add to the whole dramatic effect needed for a successful Bubba Rope® rescue.
7. Now, pull your stuck vehicle out in a jerking type motion by hitting the gas pedal and yanking the stuck vehicle loose. Keep pulling until both vehicles are free and clear of any mud, sand or snow.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE OWNER OF THE STUCK VEHICLE DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE… well, first because they got their vehicle stuck in the first place and so their driving skills should be in real question at this point. And second, no doubt they have mud all over their boots and will make your vehicle's interior plastered with mud!
8. If your stuck vehicle doesn’t come out of the mud on the first pull, just give up and go home. Just messing with you! Because, just like life if at first you don’t succeed, you may have to try again a little harder. Once you get the job done, celebrate your success by chest bumping, exchange of large sums of money, or any way you want to express your gratitude to be on the road again.
Your Bubba Rope® is made from good old-fashioned American man-made synthetic fibers so you can hose all that muck and mud off with no problem.
Remember: You should keep your Bubba Rope® close by and handy in your vehicle at all times as you never know when you gonna get stuck up to your ears in mud, sand or snow again.
