The drivers of Volkswagen Jetta, Beetle, Golf, and Passat no longer have to stay behind and start leading the pack with the added power provided by a new high-performance air intake system by AEM. Install this system thus eliminating needless airway bends and restrictions to achieve more engine power, better acceleration, and improved drivability of your German car. A custom-designed heat shield was added to the system to prevent hot air from the engine bay from entering the engine. A synthetic air filter with red media is placed in front of the air intake scoop. It is washable and reusable. Depending on driving conditions, it lasts about 100,000 miles before cleaning is required. Aluminum air intake tubes are mandrel-bent to be able to prevent restrictions of the airflow and powder coated in a charcoal gray color for extended durability and a nice factory look. When tested on the dyno, the system produced an estimated additional 7 horsepower and 9 pound-feet of torque at 4,200 rpm over the factory air filter box and air intake tubes.
