This American brand was created in the mid-1990s by the brothers Dennis and Randall Aase who have considerable experience in motorsports and related equipment and know how to prepare cars for competitions.

Dennis raced professionally since the 1960s and concurrently owned a wrecking yard specializing in Porsche. Randall became an owner of a repair and engine building shop in the 1970s and closely cooperated with his brother in the sphere of motorsports and engine development. In 1995, they joined and established Aasco Performance, Inc., and Aasco Motorsports became a division responsible for motorsport operations. These days, it produces high-performance flywheels in California and distributes them along with aftermarket clutch kits and related parts sourced from the world's leading manufacturers. Most flywheels and clutches supplied by the company are designed for both performance enthusiasts and pro racers.

Many clutches offered by Aasco are made by Sachs Performance and Tilton which are known for their reliable racing solutions. Producing its strong and lightweight flywheels, the company uses heat-treated and aged aluminum alloy (6061-T6 grade), while starter gear rings and replaceable heat shields are manufactured from treated steel for long-lasting durability. All flywheels are CAD designed and CNC machined to meet the stringent quality standards. Aasco offers many products for German and Japanese automobiles popular among racers such as the Porsche Boxster and Cayman, Audi S4, Mitsu Evo, Nissan 370Z, Subaru WRX, some autos by Honda/Acura, etc. Even such 'civilian' models as the Nissan Cube and Volkswagen Jetta are also on the list of vehicles which can be upgraded with Aasco flywheels and clutches.
