For 2019, BMW introduced the new representative of their 2-Series line named the M2 Competition. It took the place of the M2 high-performance model, offering a wide range of improvements concerning the styling, interior, and of course, performance. The 2019 BMW M2 Competition utilizes a 3.0 L twin-turbo I6 capable of 405 hp. It is a slightly detuned version of the engine employed by M3 and M4 models that features stronger pistons, lighter crankshaft, and some other improvements compared to that found in the M2. Two transmission choices are offered, being a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch. The M2 Competition is quicker than its predecessor thanks to not only boosted power, but also more carbon fiber reinforced polymer integrated into the body shell of the car. The model also comes with some distinctive styling cues that include larger front intakes, wider grille, redesigned headlights, and resculpted side mirror housings. There is a large fixed wing spoiler in the rear too. Inside, the M2 Competition offers some distinctive features like carbon fiber trim, sports seats, M Performance steering wheel, and roll cage. Two new exterior colors joined the palette that now features 6 options.

The 2019 BMW 2-Series is essentially a carryover from the previous model year. The vehicle delivers excellent performance, superior agility, notable comfort, and well-known BMW refinement and style. The standard engine is a 2.0 L turbo I4 making 248 hp; a 3.0 L turbo I6 good for 335 hp is available as an option. An 8-speed automatic and RWD layout are standard, while a 6-speed manual and AWD are optional. The base 2019 BMW 2-Series comes with LED headlights and fog lights, 17” wheels, automatic wipers, keyless ignition and entry, simulated leather upholstery, automatic climate control, 6.5” infotainment display, rear-view camera, Bluetooth, ConnectedDrive telematics, USB, and 7-speaker audio system. The convertible variant also features a mesh wind deflector and power-folding top made from fabric.
