For 2018, Smart unveiled a special version of the Fortwo named the 10th Anniversary Edition. Offered only on Passion and Prime coupe models, it offers the content of the Sport package, including a leather steering wheel, stainless steel pedals and 16” black wheels, as well as new interior stitching, floor mats, shift knob and two-tone rims by Brabus. The car also received a unique blue grille (other versions come with a neon two-tone one), exclusive paint, Tridion safety cell, and special Anniversary badging. For 2018, the Fortwo dropped its gasoline engines, so Smart has become the first carmaker in the U.S. to use only electric powertrains. The 2018 Smart Fortwo and Forfour EQ NightSky Edition are the first cars to carry Mercedes' EQ badge, which is a new special designation for the automaker's fully electric vehicles. The two boast the blacked-out exterior look created by Brabus and black-finished interior inspired by a night sky, accented by distinctive Pacific Blue trim.

The 2018 Smart Car Fortwo offers a sole powertrain option – a 3-phase synchronous electric motor good for 81 hp that works together with a li-ion battery rated at 17.6 kWh and direct-drive transmission. It enables the car to deliver 58 miles of range for a coupe variant and 57 miles for a convertible. Intended to be used in the city, the vehicle offers quite moderate numbers – its maximum speed tops out at 81 mph and 0-60 mph acceleration takes 11.4 seconds. However, the 2018 Smart Car Fortwo provides excellent efficiency, returning the equivalent of 91 MPGe highway and 112 MPGe city. All versions of the model come with a rear-wheel drive layout.

The 2018 Smart Car Fortwo is offered in three grades – Pure, Passion and Prime. The base variant comes with LED DRLs, 15” steel wheels, power windows, automatic climate control, cruise control, cloth upholstery, Bluetooth, and 2-speaker sound system featuring a USB port, CD player and auxiliary input. The Fortwo also offers a special Cross Connect app that enables you to control audio, vehicle info, phone, navigation, and internet streaming radio. Despite a compact size, the vehicle offers decent cargo room of 9.2 cu. ft. and the passenger seat can be folded flat allowing you to carry long units. The Cabrio variant provides 8.9 cu. ft. and 6.7 cu. ft. with the top down. Inside the car, there is a small tray for your stuff, a pair of cupholders in the center and one in each door.
